Marie Laugier Passarelli
Now I install my "paintings" in space. Deprived of frame, the act consists in quartering them with : Walls, ceilings, grounds, beams, trees. They are found nailed, fastened, jagged, hanging - kinds of emaciated skins, flesh spell-bindings - Full with cicatricial layers, they test the place, space which surround them, physical entities they are given, overflowed or disappear.
I extirpate my rough fabrics of the matters which I reveal inside the third dimension where my vanities are manufactured, evoking Gothic vestiges, baroques, and of a time much more remote. I bring in this subjective dimension my anatomical drawings, extremely detailed (craniums, bone, clavicles...), like if the scientific aspect, this vision there (transfer of the Rebirth), were rubbed at times of before the prospect, of pagan times. I invent there topographic bonds, childish acts mixed with pagan rites (the border remains turbid), of the random plays get going. I grope in space and gather, disassemble my disguised objects or "natural" vestiges: bone (sucked, boiled, dried), wire, stones, furs, fetishes, limp secret, limp with wishes, drawings, erasures, fabrics. These objects "my vanities" have a manufactured intimacy, I move them in one, their immanente presence and "magic" is done by the weighing that it releases, inherent in me.
